Accepting it really is the first step. You have to recognize that you are not a perfect being, luckily no one is. Recognizing your faults and accepting them is the start to improving them.

I, for example, have to accept that I’m impatient, that there are times when my plans are going to be ruined and I have to accept that I sometimes lose my temper (and usually end up hurting the people closest to me). Once you can admit to your faults, they can’t drag you down, but instead you empower yourself to change them.

I don’t have to tap my feet when I’m standing in a queue and I don’t have to feel my day is ruined when my plans fall through. It’s mere bad habits that I can change en route to becoming a happier and better version of me.
